Caden's 2nd Birthday Party

Caden will be 2 on Monday.  I can hardly believe it.  We decided to have his birthday party this weekend because it worked out better for us.  Caden had a bowling party this year on the Army base.  They have a nice bowling alley that is non-smoking and it has a/c.  In Germany a lot of places do not have air conditioning and believe it or not it does get hot here in the summer.  Caden had a joint birthday party with his friend, Nathaniel.  Nate turns three just six days after Caden turns two.  I am in MOPS with Nate's mom, LeeAnn.  They recently moved to our little town so it's been really nice having them close by.  It was a great party and the kids had a lot of fun.

This was Caden's 3rd time to bowl.  I took him earlier this week to bowl with his friend, Miranda, and my friend Ashleigh.  Today he figured out he could hold the bowling ball all by himself!  He did great but I was still worried that he might drop the 6 pound ball on his foot.  Thankfully he never did.  The biggest problem we had was teaching him to wait his turn.  He wanted to bowl, then get another ball and bowl again and again.

The kids that came to Caden's party this year were - Nate, Miranda, Makenzie, Joey, Madelyn, and Gabriel.  Overall, it was a nice size.  A lot of our friends from MOPS are out of town right now, either in the States or traveling in Europe.  This is a 4-day weekend for the soldiers so people take advantage of that.  Since Collin is not in the military he doesn't get any extra days off.  I have to work next Saturday so that is why we had it this weekend.

Here are some pictures from Caden's birthday party.

Caden was very good at cheering after he bowled and other kids bowled

He impressed us!  We didn't realize he could do it all by himself but he could!

Present time!

At home - trying to open the battery of his new dog.
He has learned to take apart his toys.
Notice the scrape on his knee,
he had his first big fall yesterday on the pavement.
